Public Tour FAQ's

Q: I just booked a seat on an upcoming public tour - what's next?

A: Just sit back, crack open a beer and wait for the details to come to you. We'll email you details about the tour within 48 hours of your purchase. We'll also send you some more details (pick up location, reminders, random quotes we like) 1 week and 1 day prior to the tour. Just follow the instructions and meet up at the specified time and place and get ready for an adventure!

Q: What is included in the Nor Cal Public Brew Tour?

A: Our Nor Cal Brew Tour is an all-inclusive six hour experience (there are no hidden fees or things you need to purchase in addition). Our Nor Cal includes round-trip transportation in a 45 person biodiesel solar-powered school bus (yes..we travel in style!), one specialized tour guide for every 15 people (as well as a separate driver), beer samples at two craft breweries (plus we do a blind beer tasting of a surprise brewery on the bus), a nice lunch at Lagunitas Brewing Company, fun beer-related entertainment on the bus, a behind-the-scenes brewery tour, and a handy souvenir.

Q: What is included in the SF City Beer Tour?

A: Our SF City Beer Tour includes everything our Nor Cal Public Brew Tour does -- except it lasts four hours and does not include lunch.

Q: I'm a vegetarian, will there be vegetarian options for lunch?

A: Of course. Lagunitas offers two - three different veggie options. Plus every Northern California brewery offers at least one veggie option -- and they are good! Note: Our SF City beer tour does not include lunch, so eat up before!

Q: Where does your tour bus pick up?

A: For our Nor Cal Brew Tour and SF City Beer Tour we pick up at the Civic Center in San Francisco at Larkin and Fulton (right next to the San Francisco Public Library). We've created some handy directions to get to this pick-up stop by public transportation or cab. Please note: There is limited parking at the Civic Center (you can park below the civic center for about $25-35 but it's not advised to leave your car overnight). If you're nice, we can let you know of some super secret parking that's free and you can park overnight (if your tour is on a Saturday). We'll also be happy to call you a cab. Drinking and driving is so not cool.

Q: How big is your tour bus?

A: Our tour bus can seat up to 40 people but we try not to book more than 25 people per tour. The breweries we visit are fairly small and cannot accommodate more than around that number. If you have a group, contact us about our private party packages -- we can craft a special route for you based on your palate.

Q: Do you require a minimum or advanced notice for public tour bookings?

A: Yes, we require a minimum of 15 passengers to go on our public tours, unless it's a custom/private party event. Groups require advance notice. Prices vary with location, selections, and needs.

Q: What should/can I bring on the bus?

A: Some items that'll be useful: 1) Your ID (you can't get on the bus without it -- no exceptions). 2) Sunblock - It's your friend during our summer tours. 3) Water (we'll provide you 1-2 bottles during the trip but if you guzzle water (which we recommend!) you may want to bring your own bottle) 4) Cash/credit cards for souvenirs/ extra beer at the breweries. 5) A rubber chicken (just kidding..but we did have one person on our tour obsessed with them and brought over 20 on our bus!) Note: You can purchase beer at the breweries to bring on the bus. Unfortunately, we cannot have you bring your own beer on the bus prior to the tour (this also includes hard liquor). No coolers either - our tours tend to sell out and room is hard to come by.

Q: Can I drink beer on the bus?

A: Hells yes! What kind of beer tour do you think we are? During our Nor Cal tour, we'll even get your started with a beer on the bus and you'll also have a chance to win some useful beer-related items with some fun beer trivia! Note: We cannot allow coolers or bringing the beer on the bus (this includes hard liquor). BUT, you CAN buy beer on the tour and drink it on the bus.

Q: How many beers will I get to try?

A: Brewery Adventures will provide you with the opportunity to sample 10+ different beers on the tour (that's at least 3+ beers/ per brewery). Trust us...there will be plenty of beer to drink!

Q: Will you provide food?

A: Our Nor Cal Brew Tour includes a yummy lunch at Lagunitas brewery and some snacks on the bus. Don't worry, the food isn't typical brewpub food - it'll be a tatsy lunch that'll compliment your beer pairings. Our SF City Beer Tour does not include lunch so eat lunch before or you can eat at the first brewery, Thirsty Bear, during the tour -- they have great food.

Q: If I buy brewery merchandise, will there be room on the bus?

A: Hells yes! We can fit as much as you buy! We even have cooler room to keep your growlers cool.

Q: Is Brewery Adventures responsible if we drink too much, hurt ourselves or others, get hurt on the bus, or damage property?

A: No we are not. Every person that comes on one of our tours signs a Liability Release form that makes us not liable for any possible injury sustained at all during the entire tour and after you leave our tour. We also have comprehensive liability insurance. Our tours definitely revolve around great beer - we'll give you guidelines on how to effectively pace yourself and offer water along the way. Buzz kill moment: Again, we're not responsible for how much beer you may consume on your own on at each brewery. We reserve the right to refuse service to those that get out of control and disrespect the breweries. You'll be asked to take a cab home at your own expense.

Q: What are some ways that can get me kicked off the tour (public or private)?

A: Just to list a couple ways: 1) Being violent with others or with property (this includes punching each other in the face and yes this happened.. :) ) 2) Stealing 3) Going into unauthorized places within breweries 3) Being overly intoxicated 4) Having open containers in the pick-up/drop-off spots, taking beer from the breweries on the bus (growlers and closed bottles are OK), or taking open containers into breweries 4) Using drugs ('nuff said). Bottom line is to please respect yourselves, others, and the very cool breweries that allow us to visit them.

Q: I missed the bus? What can I do?

A: You can call us as soon as possible at (800) 230 - BEER. We can see if we can figure something out. Many times you can meet us at our first stop. There is no refund if you miss the bus.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: Public tour purchases are fully refundable (minus the google checkout fee) up until 14 days before the tour. If you cancel up until 72 hours before the tour start time, purchases are refundable but will be subject to a $30 per person handling fee. Tours canceled within 72 hours of tour departure time are non-refundable. Email us at info@breweryadventures.com to obtain a refund. Check out our Cancellation Policy for details about our private parties.

Q: Can we bring children or anyone under 21 years old?

A: No. Unfortunately all of our tours are adult-oriented. Only people 21 years old and over can join our tours. Our tours involve alcohol and we will be checking ID's. Note: Only valid forms of ID's will be accepted (that means no student ID's, Costco cards, or Debit cards..you get the picture :) ).

Private Party FAQ's

Q: I'm interested in getting a price quote on a private party adventure. What do I do?

A: You can email us at info@breweryadventures.com, use our contact form, or call us at (800) 230 - BEER. Just let us know what date you're thinking of, how many people in your party, what breweries you'd like to visit (we can pretty much take you to any SF or Nor Cal brewery), what occasion it's for and what your budget range is. We'll get back to you within 48 hours (usually quite a bit sooner).

Q: Generally, what is the price range for your private party adventures?

A: Because our private adventures pick up and drop off at any location, can visit any brewery you wish, and can be customized to any occasion, they are always more than our public tour prices. Our prices directly depend on the type of vehicle you select and the number of people in your party. The price per person can range from $120 - $350.

Q: What is the minimum and maximum amount of time for the private party adventures?

A: We offer between four and seven hour adventures. Less than four hours, the experience gets rushed and that's not really what we're all about. After seven hours, it gets a little messy and we'd rather not deal with that :)

Q: Are there other vehicles other than your 20+ person bus to rent?

A: Yes! In addition to our ridiculously cool biodiesel bus, we have luxury limousines (6 and 10 person), SUV's, SUV stretch limosines, limo buses, and town cars that are perfect for any private party adventure.
